Quality Standards

Glass Substrate

* Type: Must be tempered glass or heat-strengthened glass, compliant with GB 15763.2-2005 (China) or EN 12150 (EU).
* Appearance: No scratches, bubbles, stones, mildew, or other defects;
* Flatness: Surface curvature ≤0.2%

Interlayer

* Type & Thickness:
PVB: Common thicknesses 0.38mm, 0.76mm, 1.52mm; compliant with ASTM D2192.
SGP: Tear strength 5x that of PVB, suitable for high-safety applications (e.g., blast-resistant glass).
EVA: Good moisture-heat resistance but weaker adhesion; mostly used for decorative glass.
* Light Transmittance: Clear PVB ≥85% (GB/T 5137.1-2020).

Edge Seal
* Butyl seal: No bubbles or gaps; seal width ≥3mm. * Secondary seal: Polysulfide or silicone sealant must fully cover the spacer bar without cracks.

Selection Considerations

Air cavity thickness matters:
• 12mm–16mm is optimal for sound and thermal insulation. Too thick may cause gas convection and reduce performance.
Glass thickness vs. panel size:
• Large glass panels (e.g., curtain walls) require increased single-pane thickness (e.g., 8mm, 10mm) for better wind load resistance.
Special functional glass:
• For Low-E glass or argon-filled units, air cavity ≥12mm is recommended for optimal performance.
